Meet the Tiedemann team
Our commitment to our clients is solidified in our structure as a partnership. From the start, the firm was set up to hand down equity to future generations of Tiedemann employees. Being independent and responsible to ourselves alone allows us to fully invest in our clients.
Michael has direct responsibility for managing client relationships. He works closely with clients to understand their goals and objectives; manage their investments, including impact investing; and integrate their investment strategy, philanthropy, and estate planning into a cohesive wealth management plan. Additionally, Michael oversees business operations for the San Francisco office.
Prior to joining Tiedemann, Michael worked for The Hennessee Group, a New York-based hedge fund advisory firm, where he was responsible for manager due diligence, client relationships, manager research and client portfolio construction. Michael also worked in the New York office of Commerzbank AG’s Alternative Investment Strategies Group, where he was responsible for conducting individual fund manager due diligence and research for the bank’s products.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Additionally, he is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor. Raised in Darien, Connecticut, Michael lives in Mill Valley, California, with his wife and three children.
