Roberta Sydney
Ms. Sydney is an Independent Director, Executive and Business Builder experienced in diverse real estate development and financial services ranging from large, traditional organizations to young, entrepreneurial companies. Ms. Sydney is a practical visionary and a solutions-oriented leader who delivers results for shareholders. She couples her intellectual curiosity with deep analytic capabilities to manage the unknowns and variability of today’s business climate. Ms. Sydney possesses a unique combination of skills and experience: financial transactions, marketing expertise, IT systems, and a record of success in real estate development.
In 1999, Ms. Sydney launched Sydney Associates, Inc., a midsize real estate developer, asset and property manager, and multigenerational family business, where she is CEO. Earlier, as a Principal at State Street Advisory Strategies, Ms. Sydney pioneered a new division to market institutional grade investment management services to Registered Investment Advisors for their high-net-worth clients, garnering $175M in new assets in the first year. As a Senior Vice President at BayBank, Ms. Sydney spearheaded the Mortgage Division’s leap to number 1 in the market by rejuvenating real estate broker calling efforts.
Ms. Sydney is a sought-after speaker on Real Estate and Governance topics at universities and organizations such as The MIT Center for Real Estate, Harvard Business School, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, Bentley College, Women Corporate Directors, and the Private Company Governance Summit. She is a member of the following organizations:

Ms. Sydney is an active, independent Board Member across the private and non-profit sectors. She serves on the boards of Plaxall Inc., Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School and C200. She also advises several real estate technology companies, including Rental Beast, Embue and Cobu.
Ms. Sydney holds a master’s degree in Real Estate Development from MIT, an M.B.A. from Harvard University, and a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College. She is fluent in French. She maintains an active real estate brokerage license and has earned the NACD CERT in Cybersecurity Oversight.
