Stephanie Cohn Rupp
Stephanie oversees the development of the firm’s impact investing service offering. She is also responsible for working with Tiedemann prospects, clients and advisors on developing impact approaches to be integrated into their portfolios. Additionally, she co-leads the firm’s business development strategy team.
Stephanie joined Tiedemann when the firm merged with the Threshold Group, where she launched Threshold’s presence in the Bay Area and led the Impact Investing team. Prior to Threshold, Stephanie was the CEO of Toniic, an impact investor network where she led all aspects of global strategy, growth and operations. Prior to Toniic, Stephanie was a senior member of the investment team at Omidyar Network, an impact investing firm created by eBay Founder Pierre Omidyar. She managed early-stage investments in South Asia, West Africa and Latin America focused on financial inclusion and formalizing property rights of the poor.
She has held positions at UBS Investment Bank in New York City and London, and at Planet Finance in Paris, France and ACDI/VOCA in Washington DC originating loans to microfinance institutions in Central Asia, Russia and Latin America. She also previously served as a consultant to the World Bank and UNESCO focused on education finance in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Stephanie is a member of IA50 Review Committee of ImpactAssets and she has co-authored a book with Jed Emerson, The ImpactAssets Handbook for Impact Investors (Anthem Press, 2017). She is a frequent speaker at impact investing conferences.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science in philosophy and politics from Bristol University, England, a Master of Science from the London School of Economics, and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School focused on Trade and Finance. Stephanie is a dual French-American citizen and lives with her husband, son and daughter in the Bay Area.
