Thaddeus Shelly
Investment Advisory Committee
Mr. Shelly is a former Managing Director and Senior Advisor for Tiedemann Wealth Management, where he was primarily responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships.
Prior to joining Tiedemann, Mr. Shelly was a Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lazard Wealth Management LLC, where he was responsible for leading the firm’s efforts in working with wealthy family groups and individual investors in the management of their investable assets. Before joining Lazard, Mr. Shelly was a Senior Managing Director at Bessemer Trust Company. At Bessemer he oversaw client acquisition and account management for their Delaware Trust Company and their Mid-Atlantic, South and Southeast regions. He also successfully managed Bessemer’s Washington, D.C., office while overseeing the firm’s Equity Risk Management advisory services. Prior to joining Bessemer in 1998, Mr. Shelly was the Founder and Director of Private Client Services at Legg Mason from 1992-1998. He began his career in 1984 at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he provided investment advisory and brokerage services to institutional and wealthy individual investors.

Mr. Shelly earned a Master of Business Administration from The College of William & Mary and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College. Mr. Shelly and his wife reside in Deltaville, Virginia and have four adult children.
